The firmware is software running on the components of the Elios system. These are regularly updated by flyability engineers to improve functionality and add features, so make sure you are using the latest version on all your devices. The avionics firmware is installed on the Elios drone and determines the flight characteristics of the robot, it can be updated via the LOG SD card.
The Flyability Cockpit application runs on the tablet, it can be updated by installing an APK file which is uploaded via a computer.
If you are running Cockpit version 1.1 or above the app can be updated by connecting to the internet, a installation menu will automatically appear if a new version is available.
The ground unit also runs software which defines the control protocols with Elios and the tablet. This firmware can be upgraded (or downgraded) via a tablet using the DJI GO "products before P4" app.
